Job Description
THE POSITION
- Are you passionate about working outside and like to get your hands dirty in your job If so consider becoming a part of the Clear Creek Forest District within the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources. In this position you will work side by side with forestry professionals to improve their ability to manage forest resources efficiently. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
In this role you will engage in various technical forestry tasks and support activities that foster effective forest management and stewardship on both state forest lands and private forest areas. Your responsibilities will include aiding service foresters in gathering initial field data for stand analysis and contributing to the formulation of forest management strategies.
Additionally you will play a key role in implementing stewardship enhancement practices which may encompass tree planting timber stand improvement wildlife habitat management and other related activities. Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- This is a seasonal fulltime position with no healthcare benefits. There is not an option to buy into health care benefits. The season runs from approximately March 2025 until November 2025 at which time the employee will be placed on leave without pay. The employee will automatically be returned to employment March 2026.
- Work hours are:
- Week 1: 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM Monday Friday
- Week 2: 7:00 AM to 4:15 PM Tuesday Friday; Monday OFF
- This position may require travel and overtime as needed.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:- An associates degree in forest technology;or
- Completion of equivalent formal education in forestry.
- Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.
Condition of Employment:- This position requirespossession of a valid PA noncommercial Class C drivers license or equivalent.
Other Requirements:- PA residency requirementis currentlywaivedfor this title.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
