Job Description
Summary
The RnD intern will play a pivotal role in supporting development of solar energy products and systems and ensuring the quality and reliability of our products. This position collaborates closely with crossfunctional teams to support development of mechanical electrical hardware and control systems development for software as well as testing of systems. This position reports to the Head of RnD Solar Energy.
Tasks and Responsibilities
Includes some of the following:
- Supports maintenance of mechanical design drawings including modifications using Creo
- Supports documentation of electrical designs with schematics
- Supports control systems development using Matlab/Simulink for software development
- Supports testing of electrical hardware components
- Supports testing of control systems via desktop simulations and testing of software
- Supports analysis of data from testing and simulations
- All other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
- Working towards a Bachelors or Masters degree in electrical engineering or mechanical engineering
- Knowledge of electrical power systems desired
- Knowledge of Matlab/Simulink desired
- Limited Travel required.
Health and Safety

- Ability to bend and reach with repetitive motion.
- Hearing naturally or with aids.
- Vision 20/20 with or without correction.
- Physical demands of the job include standing use of hands to manipulate objects talking hearing looking typing walking twisting and bending
- Employees could be requested to lift carry reach above the shoulder stoop squat kneel and crouch.
- Employees could be required to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted.
- Employees will perform duties in an office environment and a field setting.
- Employees will be occasionally exposed to tripping hazards.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually low to medium.
