Job Description
Rochester Elementary School is looking for a responsible custodian to maintain its classrooms and building. The ideal candidate will be experienced in a custodian role focused on facility upkeep. This is an 8 hour position 5 days a week which begins at approximately 2 pm and ends at 10 pm. This position begins July 1 spaces are prepared for the next day by taking out trash & recycling tidying furniture and disinfecting all desk/table mop floors and vacuum carpetsWash and sanitize toilets sinks and restock mirrors and insecticides to prevent infestation by dangerous maintenance and minor repairs (ie broken switches fixing door handles minor leaks etc.)Secure facility after operating hours by locking doors closing windows and shutting off occasional custodial and janitorial tasks (shoveling snow from the sidewalk lifting heavy items moving chairs etc.)Summer time deep cleaning included stripping & waxing all floors; RequirementsExperience as a custodian or janitor in a similar of use and maintenance of industrial cleaning equipment and of safe disposal of chemical liquids and other hazardous with basic handyman practices and basic landscapingAttention to detail Basic computer skills for custodial seminar learning and emailGood physical condition High school diploma
