Title: Basketball Junior Varsity Coach Girls
FUNCTION:
plan direct and supervise all phases of the total Junior Varsity Basketball Program in accordance with the MIAA TriValley League Athletic Department and School policies.
oversee the physiological and skill development of studentathletes in the program.
develop each student participant to maximum potential in a program of skill learning and improvements.
4. Directly responsible to the Athletic Director in liaison with the High School Principal.
under the direction of the Varsity Head Coach to ensure that a consistent philosophy of skill development in student athletes is followed.
NOTE:
1. This position is expected to be filled by 2024 coach.
appointment is subject to sufficient participation to appropriately support this coaching position.
3. When designated by Athletic Director Coach will drive students to/from athletic events where 14 or fewer studentathletes are traveling with the team.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
responsibility as designated by the Athletic Director and Head Coach.
responsibility for organizing coaching and administering in a manner consistent with the total Junior Varsity Basketball Program.
to the adopted policies of the Bellingham School Committee.
the policies and procedures in the Athletic Department Staff Handbook.
sound coaching practices in teaching all skills including aspects of health and safety.
responsibility for equipment inventory.
disciplined and sportsmanlike behavior.
input and guidance to the Head Coach.
the safety conditions of the facility or assigned area including the locker rooms.
QUALIFICATIONS:
to the School to the StudentAthlete and to the Athletic Program.
knowledge of the sport and the ability to demonstrate and teach individual skills.
to motivate the studentathlete to maximum potential.
in appearance and actions.
experience as a Junior Varsity Basketball Coach preferred.
CPR First Aid or the equivalent preferred.
as a member of the teaching staff preferred.
