Job Description

VersaDesk is seeking a Product Design Development Engineer who is passionate about creating exceptional customer experiences. This role will work directly with the CEO to design and develop innovative furniture solutions and refine every detail of the customer journey from unboxing to assembly. The ideal candidate combines strong engineering expertise with a businessoriented and customercentric mindset.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Collaborate closely with the CEO on new product design and development initiatives.
• Lead the design and optimization of product packaging with a focus on cost protection and the customer experience.
• Design inbox marketing materials and contribute to experience marketing strategies that elevate brand perception.
• Gather analyze and synthesize customer feedback to inform product improvements and future designs.
• Conduct product evaluations map quality issues and implement improvements to enhance longterm product reliability.
• Own the endtoend customer unboxing experience ensuring it is intuitive branded and delightful.
• Evaluate and continuously improve the customer assembly experience reducing friction and complexity.
• Create clear userfriendly assembly instructions and work with media teams to produce highquality assembly videos.
• Collaborate crossfunctionally with manufacturing quality marketing and customer service teams to ensure product alignment with company goals.

Basic Requirements

• Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering Industrial Design Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of SolidWorks experience (sheet metal preferred).
• Proven track record of product development preferably in consumer goods or furniture.
• Strong business acumen and customercentric approach to design and engineering.
• Excellent written and visual communication skills for producing manuals instructions and concept presentations.
• Comfortable creative design tools such as Adobe Illustrator and Canva.
• Creative detailoriented and highly collaborative.
• Experience with packaging design and user experience (UX) principles is a strong plus.
