The University of Iowa Department of Athletics seeks applications for a Head Softball Coach. This is a fulltime (atwill and FLSAexempt) position which includes full University benefits. Responsibilities: The Head Coach is responsible for the management and administration of all phases of a competitive Division I sports program that (a) recruits retains and graduates high caliber studentathletes with a high level of satisfaction (b) competes successfully within the Big Ten Conference and (c) maintains a program and staff that demonstrates high ethical standards.

Required qualifications:
- Bachelors degree (or international equivalent);
- Five or more years successful intercollegiate softball coaching experience and/or ten years of successful head coaching experience with a major high school professional or Olympic softball program;
- Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations;
- Demonstrated success in recruiting the highest caliber studentathletes within and external to the midwest and the state of Iowa who can be successful at the Division 1 level;
- Demonstrated skills in administration organization training and coaching necessary to conduct a successful intercollegiate program;
- Ability to accompany/travel with the team to away events to oversee the sport program in a manner compliant with University and Department expectations;
- Ability to travel nationally or internationally as needed to assess and recruit highly skilled studentathletes;
- Professional experience working effectively with individuals from a variety of backgrounds and perspectives demonstrating strong interpersonal skills and ability to build trusting relationships;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and demonstrated ability to work collaboratively;
- Genuine passion for and experience with supporting the holistic development of studentathletes recognizing the interconnectedness of mental health and overall wellbeing.
- Working knowledge of and ability to:
- Utilize basic office support software (word processing email presentation software and spreadsheets)
- Valid U.S. driving license and the ability to meet and maintain University of Iowa Driving Policy standards.
Desired Qualifications:
- Successful NCAA Division I softball coaching experience.
