Job Summary
This position will be executing the scheduling duties related to Avangrid Renewables wind thermal solar and proprietary trading activities in all North American power markets. Ensuring the companys resources and trading activities meet all contractual obligations. Managing the economic dispatch of generation and the use of transmission and contracted assets. Preparation of generation and delivery schedules through full pathing proper tagging and the use of Avangrids energy management software. Accurately communicating detailed information to internal and external customers both written and verbally. Following process and procedures to ensure all proprietary and asset related trading activities are accurately balanced and completed on a daily basis.
Key Responsibilities
Daily communication of forecasted wind generation and obligations to counterparties within contracted deadlines.
Balance generation schedules with energy trades to meet contractual obligations on a daily basis.
Manage the use of Avangrids longterm transmission contracts and the purchase of shortterm transmission rights when necessary.
Proper use of energy management software to capture all scheduling activity including deals schedules transmission asset position and Etags.
Submit bids and schedules to CAISO MISO ERCOT and PJM on a daily basis.
Perform prescheduled checkout process and prepare required reports for use during realtime scheduling activities.
Perform checkout process with BPA to confirm balanced generation and transmission schedules have been submitted.
Ability to rotate with other schedulers to provide 7day coverage for all power markets.
Assist Back Office in settlement issues by providing necessary analysis.
Adhere to effective internal controls.
Required Qualifications
Bachelors Degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
5 years of experience working in Scheduling Trading MidOffice Back Office and/or Generation Operations Environment.
Demonstrated ability to understand power trading operations.
PC proficient and demonstrated ability to learn automated tools related to scheduling activities.
