The Director of Engineer is responsible of all maintenance operations ensuring that the physical condition of the property is maintained according to company operating and safety and optimum guest quality standards.
The incumbent will manage all engineering operations for the facilities property including electrical refrigeration plumbing heating/cooling structural and grounds care including control and direct all vendor and company who are working to support the Engineering Department.
The Director of Engineer would be accountable for managing the budget capital expenditure projects preventative maintenance and energy conservation. They would be responsible for maintaining all regulatory requirements.
Liaise and work alongside team of Owning Company to conduct inspection and other improvement project to ensure the quality is up to standard.
General Responsibilities
- Manages and organizes a maintenance team whose mission is to ensure proper maintenance and repair of the entire building and hotel different areas and e q u i p m e n t (front and back of the house). This is accomplished within the scope of a budget and in conformity with well defined management norms.
- Responsible for planning scheduling controlling cocoordinating and participating in the activities of all personnel engaged in maintenance activities
- Responsible for the operation of the maintenance department overall condition and maintenance of the property repair and up keeping of the furniture fixtures and equipments installations systems and buildings of the Hotel. Both in term of assets and respect of equipments.
- Responsible for the security and safety norms of the equipments and the buildings.
- Being a member of the Department Head you are responsible for taking part in the decision making process of the hotel management team and for ensuring afterwards that all decisions are fully implemented in the overall maintenance department.
- Responsible for ensuring implementation of the hotel vision in the maintenance department and implementation of the regular business action plans.
- Ensure that all policies procedures and rules set by the management are adhered to by the staff in the Maintenance department.
- Plans controls and coordinates activities of all maintenance personnel engaged in maintenance and repair of the buildings and equipments concerned (Audio Visual M&E Building in general and with particular attention and care to the Air conditioning systems electrical distribution and generators water systems hotel systems such as Fire kitchen equipments cold stores laundry equipments gas storage and distribution etc..
- Responsible for the elaboration and implementation of maintenance standards.
- Inspect regularly the entire Hotel to check the state of the buildings and of the installations and equipment.
- Checks all hotel equipment making sure they are in good working conditions follow up on equipment that need repair additional spare parts replacement or disposal.
- Sees to it that all repairs and maintenance jobs are done according to hotel standards and practices.
- Check regularly the state of cleanliness and hygiene and sanitation of the hotel equipment and building. Recommends points for improvement and implements the same.
- Conducts sanitation inspections and maintenance inspections of the back of the house on a regular basis according to hotel standards and procedures.
- Cooperates with the Purchasing department in locating sources for needed items substitutes locally available for imported ones and ensure best quality and value for money.
- Controls costs by minimizing/decreasing chances of property damage maintaining adequate inventory of tools. (Maintenance store control).
- Prepares the schedules of all maintenance colleagues controls this schedule making sure all areas are covered properly.
- Follows with consistency the preventive maintenance schedule of all equipments in the Resort
- Responsible for keeping up to date concerning all Indonesian legislations and required licenses with regard to the technical and safety aspects.
- Directly responsible of maintaining the department costs and other expenses related as per guidelines defined.
- Directly responsible of all needed equipments purchases (spare parts replacement parts etc. selection of suppliers in cooperation with purchasing manager.
- Directly responsible of all needed equipments receiving and the quality of control upon receiving as per purchase orders and proper storage of goods upon receipt in cooperation with the Accounting department and store.
- Responsible for setting all the par stock for maintenance dept. items monitoring delivery with store and purchasing and avoiding shortage of goods.
- Responsible for the preparation of the yearly budget for the maintenance department in co operation with Financial Controller and Hotel Manager for final approval of General Manager.
- Responsible for keeping up to date concerning new products energy saving measures and strategies pricing of equipment and work tools.
- Responsible for setting up energy saving plans and training/guidelines for all concerned to follow and assist when and where possible.
- To actively update energy measurement data in Accor Hotels portal GAIA application on monthly basis.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor Degree in Engineering
- Minimum of 5 years relevant experience as Chief Engineer
- Hotel operational experience is a must
- Experience in a luxury five star environment is essential
- Knowledge of local regulations related to Engineering is a must
