Computer Science TeacherMalden Catholic a Xaverian Brothers Sponsored Codivisional Middle and High School for young men and women is seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic candidate for a Computer Science Teaching Position to join our faculty and teach Exploring Computer Science to 9th grade students for theschool year. Masters degree in the field and minimum 2 years teaching experience preferred. This is a foundational course designed to introduce students to computer science concepts problemsolving and digital literacy in a handson and inquiry based learning Willingness to support the Catholic mission of the school. Willingness to participate in ECS training over the ideal candidate is passionate about equity in computer science education has experience with or is willing to be trained in the Exploring Computer Science (ECS) curriculum and is committed to fostering a positive inclusive and engaging classroom Teacher: Teaches 5 periods courses as assigned Models the Catholic values of the school. Inspires promotes and nurtures the secondary level education of students by planning and tailoring courses of study; monitoring assisting with and assessing academic efforts. Delivers the Exploring Computer Science curriculum to 9thgrade students including units on humancomputer interaction problem solving web design programming computing and data analysis and robotics. Creates a supportive and equitable classroom environment that encourages student participation and curiosity. Implements projectbased and inquirydriven instructional strategies. Provides a safe classroom environment conducive to learning and attentive to varied learning styles. Collaborates with colleagues to align curriculum and share best practices. Participates in school meetings professional development and curriculum planning sessions. Assesses and monitors student progress using a variety of methods and provides timely feedback.
