Job Title:Dispatch Coordinator
Company Introduction:G&C Food Distributors is a redistributor of refrigerated frozen and dry food. Our sole distribution center is in Syracuse NY. We store and deliver more than 4000 food items to meet the needs of our customers across 27 states and 28 states internationally.

G&C Foods is currently looking for a professional and dynamic Dispatch Coordinator located in Syracuse NY.
Location: Syracuse NY
Pay:$22.00 $26.00
Schedule: Monday through Friday 3pm12am
Job Summary:
The Dispatch Coordinator will work directly with the Transportation Team including the Dispatch Supervisor and Dispatch Manager on Routing and Dispatch of drivers consistently. The goal is to assist in the daily customer service and administrative activities of the Transportation Department to ensure accurate and prompt delivery of service to our customers. The position requires the ability to work in a fastpaced environment and work under time restrictions.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist the Dispatch Supervisor in planning routes determining the order of stops and adjusting schedules as needed
- Assign drivers to specific routes based on availability location priority and hours of service
- Provides support to drivers on dispatch/route/tractor/trailer or other equipment issues
- Communicate dispatch time route backhauls and any other special instructions with Drivers
- Communicate with Sales Purchasing Customers and Drivers concerning delivery appointment times and ETA
- Use of ELogs and TMS system to track and monitor driver movements in realtime
- Complete and email domicile lots of sheets to track equipment effectively
- Help find quick solutions to delivery issues such as delays breakdowns rescheduling or reroutes
- Monitor trailer temperature alarms
- Maintain auto router
- Serve as a backup for Dispatch Supervisor and other Dispatch Coordinators
- Additional duties as assigned
Experience and Education Required:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Bachelors degree in supply chain or similar field is preferred
- Computer and Microsoft Office experience required
- Transportation Logistics experience preferred
- Experience with Trimble/PeopleNet or another similar elog preferred
