Job Description

THE POSITION

Right now the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB) is seeking a new Investigator for our Bureau of Investigations & Enforcement Central Regional Office in Harrisburg. Your honesty integrity knowledge and drive are what we need on our team!


DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As an Investigator 1 you will be performingentry level investigative duties relating to suitability investigations for licensure of gaming applicants and other investigations involving violations of the Pennsylvania Race Horse Development and Gaming Act. Work includes completinginvestigations involving financial and character suitability business integrity alleged violations of Act 71 the PGCB Code of Ethics and other related duties as required.Work is mainly performed independently however based on volume or complexity of work you may collaborate with other investigators consult with the Office of Enforcement Counsel or work alongside employees of the Specialized Unit within the Bureau of Investigations and Enforcement.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Fulltime employment
  • Work hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM Monday Friday.
  • Telework:You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework). In order to telework you must have a securely configured highspeed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.
  • Salary:Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of$58035 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Two years as a Casino Compliance Representative; or
  • A bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in criminal justice accounting finance or related field; or
  • Four years of law enforcement financial investigative or administrative experience in background investigations organized crime investigations white collar crime investigations public narcotics trafficking or money laundering or intelligence collection; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.


SpecialRequirements:

  • You must possess a valid drivers license.


Additional Requirements:

  • You must have experience completing preemployment background investigations.
  • You must have the ability to prepare detailed written investigative reports.
  • You must have the ability to organize assigned investigative work and analyze investigative findings.
  • You must have experience conducting interviews.
  • You must be willing and able to travel extensively both in the United State and abroad.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.


Legal Requirements:

  • Employment is contingent upon the completion of a Personal History Questionnaire with a thorough background investigation including drug screening and the subsequent review and approval by the Board.
