About the IT Systems and Security Analyst:
Hi Im Kathleen the People Operations Manager here at Venture for Canada (VFC). Ill be leading the recruitment for this new opening. At VFC the IT Systems and Security Analyst is responsible for overseeing the organizations cybersecurity data governance and working alongside our IT Coordinator. The IT Systems and Security Analyst will maintain IT policies manage cybersecurity risks and support staff with technology training and compliance.
Role Responsibilities
- Cybersecurity
- Lead the development and implementation of VFCs cybersecurity strategy.
- Defend against external cyber threats and manage vulnerabilities in VFCs systems.
- Initiate and evaluate robust and consistent staff training to keep cybersecurity top of mind.
- Conduct regular risk assessments and incident response simulations.
- Be aware of emerging threats behaviours and technologies to continuously refine and adapt the cybersecurity strategy ensuring robust protection against evolving risks.
- Data Governance
- Responsible for information governance including privacy retention and compliance issues.
- Responsible for data security and risk management including data loss prevention and security policies.
- Manage data permissions in systems and business applications ensuring that sensitive data is protected
- Responsible for compliance privacy and adherence to regulations to protect user/customer/staff data.
- IT Operations & Support
- Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 IT support for staff across the organization escalating complex issues as needed.
- Assist in maintaining and documenting IT best practices policies and knowledge base content.
Job Requirements:
- Education in IT computer science cybersecurity or related fields preferred.
- Extensive knowledge in cyber risk management frameworks assessments and providing recommendations to reduce or eliminate identified risks and a track record of driving security solutions.
- Experience conducting threat assessments deploying security tools and mitigating risks across remote cloudbased environments.
- Strong understanding of IT infrastructure software management and system reliability.
- Experience with data governance reporting and compliance.
- Strong communication and leadership skills to provide direction to technical and nontechnical personnel.
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
- Excellent problemsolving and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize effectively.
- Proficiency with SaaS tools cloudbased systems and data security best practices.
- Experience with HubSpot and/or Zapier is an asset.
- Experience working in a nonprofit or educationfocused organization is an asset.
- Must be legally authorized to work in Canada.
