Spectrolab Inc.Spectrolab Inc. a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Companys Boeing Defense Space & Security (BDS) business unit has an exciting opportunity for a MidLevel Equipment Services Engineer to join our dynamic team in Sylmar CA.
Spectrolab is the worlds leading merchant supplier of the highest efficiency multijunction solar cells for spacecraft power systems with proven reliability drawn from 65 years of space heritage. Spectrolabs stateoftheart space solar cells and panels power satellites in Earths orbit as well as the International Space Station.
Position Responsibilities:
Develops moderately complex specifications conceptual and final designs cost estimates and provides maintenance support for the procurement or modification of equipment systems (e.g. ovens autoclaves furnaces tank lines etc.
Reviews specifications and/or designs to assess compliance with customer requirements codes and applicable regulations by applying knowledge of process engineering practices and materials
Communicates problems and issues to others for resolution. Integrates the activities of multiple engineering disciplines outside consultants and government agencies
Performs moderately complex conceptual analysis to determine the cause of asset failures and reduction in asset capacity by using reliability tools and methods (e.g. life cycle analysis condition based maintenance root cause failure methodology mean time between failures fault tree analysis etc.
Facilitates the implementation of moderately complex improvements in asset effectiveness availability and maintainability to specify configuration of new assets in order to support reliability programs
Performs and documents condition code analysis of equipment as part of a team.
Reviews records inspects measures and tests to document assets operating and maintainability condition for the purpose of determining whether to continue to operate repair surplus or replace
Ensures the integration of equipment with related infrastructure. Creates reviews revises maintains and organizes equipment documents for drawings of equipment in accordance with company procedures and legal requirements
Develops and implements the testing and acceptance of equipment to validate that equipment performance meets the documented specifications
Creates maintains and communicates project management information to Sr. management
Assists in the creation of contract scope terms and conditions.
Ensures suppliers comply with all contract obligations.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelors degree or higher
3 years experience working with semiconductor test and/or assembly manufacturing
3 years experience in troubleshooting complex hardware/software systems
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Experience developing presentations for and presenting to leadership
Experience using Microsoft Office and office computing systems
Experience in a product production environment
Excellent problem solving interpersonal time management and organization skills
Work Location:
This position is expected to be 100 onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
