Box Office Weekend Supervisor Part-Time

Port Discovery Childrens Museum is one of the top Childrens Museums in the United States and a top cultural institution in Baltimores Inner Harbor. We are seeking a dependable individual with a strong attention to detail to join our team as a weekend / parttime Box Office Supervisor.

The Weekend Box Office Supervisor plays a key role in shaping a smooth and welcoming experience for all Port Discovery guests. Responsible for overseeing weekend box office operations this role ensures efficient ticketing and membership transactions while providing guidance and support to the Box Office team. Ideal for someone who enjoys working with people who leads with professionalism and who can calmly navigate a busy environment.

You must be able to commit to working every Saturday and Sunday totaling about 1620 weekly hours. Participation in weekend evening and overnight events may be requested as well.

The pay rate for this position is $19.50 per hour.

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma required.
• A minimum of 2 years of supervisory or management experience required.
• 13 years of experience in sales customer service or box office operations preferred.
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills required.
• Must be able to pass a criminal background check.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Must be available to work both Saturdays and Sundays with occasional evening shifts as needed to support museum operations.
• Open and close the Box Office during assigned weekend shifts including handling cash reconciling registers and completing endofday reports.
• Supervise and support Box Office Associates to ensure timely courteous service for all guests.
• Process membership upgrades issue refunds and troubleshoot guest concerns with a focus on deescalation and excellent customer service.
• Oversee weekend ticket and membership sales and assist with online order fulfillment.
• Serve as the point of contact for birthday party checkin support on weekends.
• Maintain accurate inventory of box office supplies including wristbands tickets and brochures.
• Manage membershiprelated communications including phone calls emails fulfillment of member materials and database updates.
• Provide onthejob training guidance and performance feedback to weekend Box Office staff.
• Communicate weekend operational updates and challenges to Sales Management in a timely manner.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the Director of Sales or Sales Management.

Physical Demands & Work Environment:

Must be able to meet physical demands of job to include sitting standing and walking as well as lifting / moving objects up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision distance vision peripheral vision depth perception and ability to adjust focus. The noise level is usually moderate to high. Must be comfortable working amongst small groups of children and caregivers. This role routinely involves use of standard office equipment such as computers phones photocopiers filing cabinets and fax machines. Predominant use of phone and email for communications.
