Job Description

Shore Educational Collaborative is looking for a Program Director for our day program for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Woburn MA.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Acts as the lead onsite decision maker and coordinates the day to day operations of the program site to which s/he is assigned. This includes:

  • Ensuring the optimal health and safety of all individuals personnel guests while at the program.
  • Facilitating the resolution of individual problems that may arise such as conflicts medical behavioral transportation issues.
  • Facilitating the resolution of staff issues as they may arise such as work assignments interpersonal conflicts workrelated injuries.
  • Making recommendation to the Executive Director regarding the need for personnel documentation actions or accommodations.
  • Facilitating the effective communication and arrangement of work related to routine and emergency facility problems.

Ensures high quality services are valued providedand documented. This includes:

  • Ensuring effective individualized and timely case management is provided to all individuals by Shore personnel who are assigned.
  • Ensuring records which are pertinent to Shore services are kept confidential and accurate according to all applicable policies regulations and statutes.
  • Ensuring curricula and activities are aligned with mission persons interests goals cultures ages skill levels.

Manages/ensures the responsible fiscal management of:

  • Staff Payroll system
  • Program Petty Cash System
  • Staff Expenditures/Reimbursement
  • Program Purchases under the limit specified by Policy.

Develops and implements systems to ensure all regulatory contractual accreditation and quality assurance requirements are met. This includes:

  • Coordinating projects and systems related to CARF accreditation process DDS OQE survey process MassHealth audit process and service contract requirements.
  • Developing managing and analyzing program evaluation and quality projects and systems to ensure that individual and servicewide quality assurance standards are met/exceeded.

Manages the referral process for the site/program including screening individuals providing information to individuals families and others associated with them managing a waitlist system and/or the appropriate delegation of such tasks.

Supervises trains and evaluates designated Program Managers/Staff. Assists in coordinating and implementing overall personnel systems related to recruitment supervision orientation training evaluation etc.

Ensures that all Agency Division and Programspecific policies and procedures are implemented. Effectively functions as part of the Division Management Team that engages in strategic planning and policy development recommendations for the Adult Services Division.

Represents the program professionally at provider meetings Day Habilitation Coalition meetings meetings with DDS and with other Shore programs and divisions.

Supervise direct care staff and program managers in the proper implementation of routine and crisis behavioral interventions as well as the personal care routines of program participants.

Attends mandatory trainings and meetings.

Acquires and maintains required certifications for your position which may include: Safety Care CPR First Aid. At least two times per year these trainings will take place after standard hours may take place at a Shore location different from your work location and will be conducted over a 26 day period.

Drives and/or participates in community trips with individuals as needed.

Any other duties as assigned by theDirector of Adult Services or Executive Director.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors degree in a health related field with at least five 5 years of relevant experience of which at least four 4 of those years must have been spent in a supervisory role. In lieu of a degree 7 years experience with I/DD individuals and at least 6 years management experience will be accepted.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Good writing and oral communication abilities.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Good judgment and supervisory skills
  • Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board finds appropriate and acceptable.

REPORTS TO: Adult Services Director

SUPERVISES: Directly: Program Managers Program Nurses Administrative Assistant Therapy Consultants Indirectly: All Direct Support Staff
