Must obtain certification SUMMARYThe Cardiovascular Invasive Technician is accountable to surgically scrub in and help with equipment. Helps the Cardiovascular Invasive Specialists with radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures is a secondary assignment. Prepares room and equipment transports and monitors patients. May handle medications in accordance with FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLEHelps Physicians with arteriograms/catheterizations permanent pacemaker implantations diagnostic and interventional peripheral and coronary interventional and thrombolytic duties include: preparing and maintaining sterile 1 fields for lab procedures; printing film and calculating stenosis on peripheral cases; circulating in procedure rooms and collecting data on appropriate forms; monitoring patients ECG and vital signs while in Catheterization Lab notifying Physician of variances and providing emergency procedures (CPR defibrillation etc. as preand postprocedure care. Monitors and orients patients for specials/catheterization related questions to make patient relaxed. Transports patients to and from procedural relevant medical information to physicians and other staff through required documentation on specified medical record enters into data computer and calculates catheterization data gradients LV grams cardiac outputs and peripheral national and state radiation protection regulations for patients self and inventory of and orders procedure room supplies.
