Job Description
MaintenanceDirector/Manager /Supervisor
An integral part of our leadership and careteam the Maintenance Director/Manager will keep the building(s) equipmentand utilities in good working order and facility grounds properly maintained toensure a safe environment optimal for quality patient care. This role is a great combination of both handson tasks and department management
Essential Job Functions
- Perform repairs and maintenance on equipment and supplies.
- Order and requisition supplies and equipment as needed within budgetary guidelines.
- Test emergency generator weekly and monthly as required by State and Federal regulations.
- Know and follow established safety rules and policies and procedures of the maintenance department.
- Cooperate with and support other department supervisors and employees.
- Maintain the building in compliance with Federal State and Local codes and laws.
- Lead and attend monthly inservice education programs in order to meet facility educational hour requirements.
- Provide coaching mentoring and performance management to your staff.
- Interview and make recommendations for hiring decisions of maintenance staff.
- Provide training and orientation to new staff within and outside the maintenance department.
- Attend department supervisor meetings and participate on required committees.
- Manage budgets and supplies and fulfill department supervisor responsibilities.
Qualifications
- Practical knowledge of daytoday maintenance and facility physical plant upkeep
- Experience in HVAC electrical and plumbing preferred
- Lead staff and/or provide strong leadership within the facility
- Organized and detailed
- Integrate well with other department leaders partnering to ensure the highest level of care is delivered
- Genuine caring for and interest in elderly and disabled people in a nursing facility
- High school diploma
