Responsibilities
M&J Engineering P.C. is seeking a Survey Technician to join our Land Surveying Department in Ridgefield Park NJ. Applicant must be a responsible motivated detailoriented individual with strong leadership skills and work ethic to work in a team environment
Supervisor of field survey crew engaged in various types of surveys
Directs the field activities of the crew(s) so that work is performed quickly and accurately.
Understands and operates Trimble Total Stations and GPS equipment or equivalent.
Performs calculations and works with computer survey programs
Knowledge of TRIMBLE BUSINESS CENTER (TBC) office software required.
Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D required.
Documents all phases of survey work with wellwritten notes
Knowledge of field survey engineering methods and techniques and survey/GPS instruments.
Knowledge of construction plans and specifications.
Ability to perform research and prepare survey field packages prior to field work.
Ability to perform read and plot deeds filed maps.
Aware of project budgets and cognizant of timing in the field.
Must be physically able to work in various field conditions
Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions
Have a valid drivers license.
Qualifications
Minimum 5 years experience. PLS Preferred but not required
Experienced on construction projects a plus
Excellent communication skills
Strong Coordinate Geometry Capabilities
Ability to work in the field as needed.
A Bachelors degree in Surveying is preferred but an Associates degree in Surveying is acceptable.
