Jenks Public Schools Job Description

Position: School Psychologist

Reports to: Director of Student Programs

Supervises: None

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Completion of a specialistlevel degree program or equivalent (at least 60 graduate semester hours) from an accredited school psychology program resulting in successful application and receipt of OSDE certification as a school psychologist.
  2. Completion of a yearlong 1200 hour supervised internship required.
  3. Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work communicate and collaborate effectively with teachers other school staff and families as part of a team within the school setting.
  4. Satisfy all district requirements with regard to physical health and citizenship.
  5. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  1. Assist in the collection management and interpretation of individual and group data.
  2. Apply sound principles of data based decision making to all aspects of practice (e.g. designing interventions monitoring student progress consulting with school teams and disseminating intervention research findings within the school setting).
  3. Consult with MTSS teams to promote effective implementation of evidence based interventions matched to student need.
  4. Conduct comprehensive psychoeducational evaluations for students considered for potential special education services.
  5. Communicate evaluation findings conclusions and recommendations clearly and concisely through oral and written reporting to parents school staff and other service providers as appropriate.
  6. Complete initial and threeyear reevaluations in a professional manner within compliance timelines.
  7. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and contribute to the development of appropriate Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
  8. Perform functional behavior assessments to provide insight regarding student behavioral needs and identify variables that trigger or maintain problem behaviors.
  9. Consult with school staff on the development of effective Behavior Intervention Plans and appropriate data collection to determine effectiveness.
  10. Coordinate and/or collaborate with a range of individuals/agencies to promote and provide comprehensive services to students and families.
  11. Provide and/or assist in professional development for staff parents and/or community.
  12. Proficiently use technology to communicate compile reports and collect data.
  13. Participate in district site or building activities and meetings as appropriate.
  14. Perform all other duties as assigned.

Employment Terms: Certified Teacher Contract. Salary and work year to be established by the Board. Benefits established by Board policy.

FLSA Qualification: Exempt

Evaluation: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board of Educations policy on Staff Evaluation 2.20/certified).

Occasional Requirements: Reach with hands and arms overhead above shoulder and horizontally; lift/move up to 40 pounds.

Visual Requirements: Close color peripheral depth perception ability to adjust focus.

Hearing/Speaking Requirements: Adequate to exchange information.
