THE POSITION

DESCRIPTION OF WORK
In this position you will engage in a variety of skilled tasks focused on the repair and structural welding of bridge components. Your responsibilities will include repairing equipment frames hitches and plows as well as fabricating parts for diverse applications. You will showcase your proficiency in multiple welding techniques including welding brazing soldering and metal cutting applicable to both ferrous and nonferrous metals for highway and bridge maintenance and construction. This role also involves working with specialized materials like stainless steel and aluminum particularly in repairing winter service equipment such as plow frames and blades. You will be tasked with fabricating new or replacement parts preheating and cleaning metals and estimating the time and materials required for repairs. Additionally you will operate motorized equipment during fabrication and welding maintain your tools and uphold a clean and safe work environment by adhering to safety protocols. Vigilance regarding potential hazards is essential and you will be expected to take proactive measures to prevent accidents promptly reporting any injuries to ensure appropriate care.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Fulltime employment
- Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM Monday Friday with a 30minute lunch.
- Work schedule is subject to change due to weather/ season winter shifts are 4:00 AM to 12:00 PM 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM
- Telework:You will not have the option to telework in this position.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Three years of experience in the operation and use of welding equipment materials and related shop equipment to repair maintain or fabricate parts equipment or structures; or
- Completion of a threeyear high school VoTech training program in welding and eighteen months of experience in the operation and use of welding equipment materials and related shop equipment to repair maintain or fabricate parts equipment or structures; or
- Completion of an approved welder apprentice program; or
- A welding certificate D1.1 from the American Welding Society; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Special Requirement:This position requires possession of an active Pennsylvania Class C Drivers License.
