Job Description

Ward 86 the HIV/AIDS Clinic at the Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center (ZSFG) campus has been a leader and innovator in field of HIV care since the beginning of the epidemic. Ward 86 is the largest clinic providing primary medical care for people living with HIV for the San Francisco Health Network (SFHN) and also provide preventive services to patients atrisk for HIV infection including preexposure prophylaxis (PrEP). Ward 86 provides care to approximately 2500 patients living with HIV with over 24000 clinical encounters a year. Services are offered through a comprehensive multidisciplinary approach addressing primary medical and HIV care urgent care mental health evaluation and treatment substance use assessment treatment and referrals HIV prevention services and HIV specialty care needs.


The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.

Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.

The salary range for this position is $43.00 $53.94 (Hourly Rate).

  • Critical thinking skills with organization/time management when caring for patients.
  • Interpersonal skills with effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Multitasking skills and ability to work in a highly pressured ambulatory environment.
  • Experience working with marginalized patient populations and culturally diverse populations including the LGBTQ community immigrants and refugees persons with addictions and/or psychiatric illnesses homeless and marginally housed persons.


    • HIV/AIDSClinical experience working with persons living with HIV/AIDS


    • Active LVN license in CA
    • Active American Heart Association CPR Certification

    The Division of HIV Infectious Diseases and Global Medicine at UCSF is an internationally recognized global leader in clinical care research and education.
