New Heights Charter School is Massachusetts only public school that involves all grades 612)in the Early College approach. Nearly all our 11th and 12th graders are fulltime students on acollege campus with younger students earning college credits at the school. You will join acommitted creative team of educators who provide academic and socialemotional support toyoung people coming from highneed backgrounds ensuring they are college and career support our staff with a wide array of professional development opportunities and a member of the Academic Leadership Team will take a lead role in the development andfine tuning of our curriculum instructional protocols and procedures observations andevaluations school policies and enrichment activities. The AP promotes close working relationships withcollege partners teachers staff students parents and keeps the CAO and Principal informedabout emerging issues.

Leadership- Serves as the conduit between New Heights and all college partners MassasoitCommunity College Bridgewater State University Bristol Community College BenjaminFranklin Cummings Institute of Technology etc.
- Takes the lead in effectively communicating with all college partners MassasoitCommunity College Bridgewater State University Bristol Community College courses schedules students and overall early college needs.
- Assist the Principal and CAO in developing a schoolwide schedule that includes allrequired courses for early college and dual enrollment students.
- Develops and monitors teacher schedules for all early college and dual enrollmentcourses and ensures that teachers are present to teach all classes assigned forteacherled courses College Companion Courses Directed Study and college courses.
- Monitors and tracks staff attendances.
- Supervises and provides employee improvement plans when needed to address actionsthat do not adhere to schoolwide standards.
- Ensures that all supplies students and staff need are communicated and provided in atimely manner including books vouchers instructional materials etc.
Instructional Leadership- Assist the CAO in providing exemplary leadership to all school community members toachieve outstanding performance in preparing each student for college and maintaininghigh academic standards for students on the college campuses and taking collegecourses.
- Assist the CAO in developing and communicating strategic school systems culture andvision and building a plan to achieve that vision
- Assist the CAO in leading all aspects of DataDriven Instruction (DDI) LeadingProfessional Development (PD) and Observation & Feedback (OF)
- Assist the CAO in implementing effective assessment systems and using data to informdecisions; curriculum development and assessment; and ensure consistency within theschool program and alignment with state and other rigorous standards
Teacher Coaching & Evaluation- Assist the CAO and Principal in providing schoolwide leadership and the ExecutiveDirector in any directed districtrelated responsibilities
- Conduct daily teacher observations and provide realtime feedback to move the needleon student achievement in conjunction with gradelevel and/or instructional leaders
- Coach instructional leaders in coaching and providing effective instructional observationsand feedback to teachers.
- Assist the CAO in leading faculty to ensure that all staff are providing wellmanaged andrigorous daily lessons in the College Companion Courses reasonable and effective dailyhomework completing assignments and deliverables for college courses and productiveacademic support and after school tutoring when needed.
- Assist the CAO in holding teachers accountable for meeting a high bar for studentperformance including requirements for special education accommodations and IEPmodifications in partnership with the Special Education Team
- Support gradelevel leads and instructional leads in creating and implementing effectiveobservations and feedback to support instruction.
- Be willing to CoTeach or Lead at least one class as it relates to Early College coursesto model high quality instruction.
Cultural Leadership- Assist the Principal and AP of Culturally Responsive Practices in building a joyful andrigorous school culture
- Assist the Principal and AP of Culturally Responsive Practices in fostering consistency inacademic and behavioral expectations
- Assist the Principal and AP of Culturally Responsive Practices in collaborating withschool staff to support students academic and socioemotional development
- Ensure that traditions and rituals that support the schools early college mission are builtand maintained grade by grade year to year
- Support staff to ensure the effectiveness of afterschool and campus enrichmentprograms
- Support staff to ensure a positive safe and structured culture of high expectations
- Assist the CAO and other instructional leaders in teaching staff members in appraisingand assessing the performance of all students
- Assist the CAO and the Whole Child Study Team in the coordination delivery andsupervision of special education and student services
- Assist in the supervision of students in the cafeteria(s) halls bus area(s) and otherlocations where students congregate when needed.
- Make disciplinary judgments for students; assign detentions or other appropriatedisciplinary measures when appropriate.
- When involved keep accurate records of student disciplinary action and report the sameto the principal
- Communicate regularly with families ensuring they are kept involved with and heldaccountable for their childrens performance and correspond about school policies tripsand events
- Respond to family concerns promptly and effectively
