Job Description

A HOMELINK software developer performs all phases of the software development processthe research design programming and testing of computer software. Developers need to possess the skills of full stack development and understand business processes and have domain knowledge.

The Developer I will be part of an agile development team building and working on enterprise grade software systems primarily on top of the Microsoft .NET development stack. All developers are expected to participate in Agile/Scrum software development methodology. In this role you are responsible for developing enhancing and maintaining a suite of webbased applications databases and expert systems used by internal staff and external customers using .NET Core and other technologies.

We are looking for developers to join the team with 3yearsof software development work experience using .Net Core Angular React and SQL. As a developer you will also conduct Unit Testing using Test Driven Development and/or Cloud Development. Elasticsearch experience is a plus. The right candidate must be innatelycurious detail oriented demonstrate good communication skills and be committed to individual and team success.

Working Location:Waterloo Iowa (flexible in onsite hybrid or remote)

Working Hours:FullTime 40 hours per week 8am5pm CST MondayFriday with additional hours as needed

Responsibilities/Duties of the Developer:

The significance of collaboration and the ability to contribute to multiple projects should shine at the Developer I level. Developer Is can begin to focus on the depth of problemsolving skills and the ability to mentor others. The experience gained in this position enables you to tackle complex challenges and contribute to strategic planning. Experience gained will support refinement of communication ability to mentor reduction of being mentored and more individual ownership of the software will help move you into the dev2 position.
  • Perform code reviews and walk throughs with Junior Developers and peers
  • Competent in the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
  • Proficient understanding of release strategy and CI/CD
  • Competent understanding of unit testing and testdriven development
  • Proficient understanding of environment setup and configuration
  • Able to complete tasks for several projects at the same time
  • Participate in the development of web applications using C# and other related technologies.
  • Collaborate with other developers designers and project managers to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Write clean efficient and welldocumented code.
  • Participate in code reviews and provide feedback to other developers.
  • Troubleshoot and debug issues in code.
  • Learn and apply new technologies and programming languages as needed.
  • Participate in testing and quality assurance processes to ensure the delivery of highquality software.
  • Contribute to the development of technical documentation and user manuals.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies related to web development and C# programming.

Developer Qualifications:

  • 14 years of experience and has already participated in several projects and has moderate skill sets. Previous internship preferred.
  • Bachelors degree in computer science or related field Computer Science Software Development Information Technology or Computer Engineering.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft .NET development using primarily C#
  • Experience designing and developing enterprise grade software
  • Experience with source control management systems and continuous integration/deployment environments
  • Experience with automated testing
  • Experience with agile development methodologies including Scrum and others
  • Experience with multithreading and concurrency
  • Experience with debugging performance profiling and optimization

Physical Requirements:

  • Working at a physical desk moving about the office and facility as needed for work
  • Operation of office machinery and equipment
  • Visual abilities to include reading distance vision and peripheral vision


Compensation:The annual base salary range provided for this position is a nationwide market range and represents a broad range of salaries for this role across the country. The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors including the scope complexity and location of the role; the skills education training credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment.
