Then being a Respite Direct Care Professional at Devereux is for YOU! You belong here.
Located in Tucson AZ our Respite Program successfully provides an interval of rest for individuals and their primary caregivers without disruption to their home environments. We provide Respite services to individuals from birth to the age of 17 who are experiencing moderate emotional or behavioral difficulties. Through the Respite program kids get to enjoy group activities and go on field trips to museums roller skating movies arcades park visits and more! And we operate out of residential houses creating a fun and safe homelike environment for those in our care.
As a Direct Care Professional (DCP) you will work directly with the children/youth to be seen as a positive role model dedicated and truly caring about their wellbeing. DCPs mentor and have fun with kids doing various yearround activities such as art projects field trips and various athletics (basketball soccer Frisbee etc)! You will assist and support the planning implementation and documentation of those programs designed to meet the social emotional physical and personal needs of individuals in the Respite Program.
Pay Range: $17 $18.70 / hr.
Part Time or Oncall; Saturday/Sunday (with other hours as needed)
Must be able to do a minimum of one 1 shift per weekend; three 3 shifts per month

Qualifications
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- High School diploma or GED required
- Valid Arizona Drivers License & pass DMV 36month history check
- Previous experience working with children/adolescents with behavioral/emotional needs required
- OR Bachelors degree in the areas of psychology sociology social work education or other related field OR 12 years of related experience
- Previous experience preferred (not required) working with individuals under 21 with psychological emotional and behavioral disorders complex posttraumatic stress disorder cooccurring mental health and substance abuse disorders and/or autism spectrum disorders
- Must be able to do a minimum of one 1 shift per weekend; three 3 shifts per month
OTHER:
- Attend mandatory full time paid New Hire Orientation MondayFriday 8:30am5pm
- Preemployment Physical and Job Demand Assessment (if applicable)
- Drug test within 24hrs of offer w/ negative results
- Current AZ Fingerprint Clearance Card with no restrictions (or eligibility to obtain with no restrictions).Arizona Revised Statues Notice (ARS 36411 Residential care institutions; nursing care institutions; home health agencies; fingerprinting requirements; exemptions; definitions). If a persons employment record contains a sixmonth or longer time frame during which the person was not employed by any employer a completed application with a new set of fingerprints shall be submitted to the department of public safety.
