Kendrick Recruitment is currently seeking a Junior Pastry Chef for a prestigious luxury safari game lodge situated in the heart of Hoedspruit. This is a unique opportunity to join an esteemed culinary team in a worldclass bush environment delivering exceptional quality and creativity in all things sweet and indulgent.
The ideal candidate will be passionate about pastry highly motivated and eager to learn from experienced professionals in a luxury hospitality setting.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in the preparation and presentation of highquality pastry and dessert offerings
Follow standard recipes while also bringing creativity to the menu
Ensure the kitchen maintains high standards of hygiene and cleanliness
Support the Head Pastry Chef in daily kitchen operations
Assist in the preparation of baked goods including breads cakes tarts and plated desserts
Maintain an organised miseenplace for all pastry sections
Ensure food is consistently prepared and presented to high standards for guest satisfaction
Requirements:
A formal culinary/pastry qualification is preferred
1 2 years experience in a pastry or baking role ideally in a luxury lodge or hotel
Strong passion for pastry arts and a willingness to learn and grow
High attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately
Ability to work in a fastpaced highpressure environment
Flexible and able to work shifts including weekends and holidays
A team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
