Mechanical Design Engineer - RA Home Textiles Rugs

Everything we do is based on a spirit of togetherness curiosity and enthusiasm. Now we are looking for someone who shares our positive attitude and values. We are recruiting a Mechanical Design Engineer to join the Engineering team at Range Area Home Textiles and Rugs.  

Together with us in the team you will develop the IKEA product offer for this essential part of our customers homes.  

As a Mechanical Design Engineer you will ensure that our products are fit for production and will create a great customer experience. You will work in close cooperation with different stakeholders throughout the value chain to find the optimal construction always with our customers on top of mind together with costs quality and our sustainability agenda.  

Your main responsibilities will be to: 

• Develop the mechanical design of products with different materials and functions in the windows range such blinds rods and rail systems from ideation phase to final product 

• Lead implementation of partcentric document development in Product Lifecycle Management system and maintain the 3D models and 2D drawings with all relevant dimensions and tolerances according to the IKEA CAD Standard 

• Create virtual prototypes and 3D models. 

• Ensure that our products are developed with both production and customer focus 

• Apply existing shared solutions standard components and materials 

Qualification 

Knowledge and experience 

• You have a university engineering degree in textiles technology product development or product design or equivalent experience  

• You have experience of product development and working with different kinds of materials and production methods. 

• You have competence in 3D CAD engineering tools such as CLO and SOLIDWORKS. 

• You have a passion for details constantly curious and driven to develop new and better solutions.  

• English language on business levelverbal and written communication.

This is a permanent role based in lmhult Sweden. We do offer the possibility to work from home but embrace collaboration why it is important that you can be at our office the majority of the time.
