Job Description
JOB DETAILS
Base pay starts at $23.25 $25.25 per hour
Shift: Full Time Day Shift
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The driver will be expected to transport deliver and/or unload metal roofing components and building systems to customers in a safe and timely manner to our dealers distribution centers and/or construction job sites using a tractortrailer.
- Safely assist in the unloading of the product using a Moffett to customers location and/ or return products
- Deliver material in route truck/multidrop fashion to destinations in accordance with Federal regulations
- Apply knowledge of commercial driving and skills in maneuvering vehicle at varying speed in difficult situations such as heavy traffic inclement weather or in tight loading dock areas
- Maintain records required for compliance with State and Federal regulations including driver logs fuel purchases mileage records and other records required by law
- Perform all duties in accordance with company policies and procedures and comply with all Federal State and local regulations for safe operation of a commercial motor vehicle
- Able to answer questions regarding packing lists invoices packaging and material content. If unable to answer specific questions direct customer to appropriate contact
- Perform pre & posttrip inspections thoroughly
- Maintain cleanliness and integrity of vehicle and equipment
- Immediately report any necessary repairs and/or maintenance needed
- Actively ensure compliance with DOT guidelines
- Other general warehouse duties will be expected during nondelivery times. This will include loading customers warehouse maintenance and various production tasks.
Qualifications :
- Valid Class A Commercial Drivers License
- Have an acceptable accident and moving violation Motor Vehicle Record
- 2 years of previous tractortrailer flatbed driving experience including winter driving experience (equivalent Military DD214 experience is acceptable)
- Valid Medical Card
- Must be able to work independently
- Ability to work effectively with people in a fastpaced environment
- Ability to work in degrees of precision and control where damage could be considerable
- Attention and care required to prevent injury to others when performing work
- Ability to stoop bend stand for long periods of time
- Ability to maintain a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision distance vision color vision peripheral vision depth perception and ability to adjust focus
- Ability to lift 4050 lbs.
