The Personalization teams mission is to help customers discover their next great listen by personalizing every interaction they have with Audible content. We develop scalable frameworks and systems that transform customer signals into meaningful insights enabling personalized contextual recommendations across our platforms. As a Software Development Engineer you will...
Define design implement and deliver a variety of highquality customerfocused technical solutions for complex P13N problems
Work crossfunctionally to understand business and customer needs define requirements and determine the right technical approach
Optimize existing processes and procedures to improve efficiency and reliability
Proactively identify and mitigate risks making appropriate tradeoffs to ensure timely and successful delivery
Mentor and share knowledge with more junior engineers on the team
Participate actively in code/design reviews and provide constructive feedback

Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience
2 years of noninternship professional software development experience
Programming experience with one or more modern language (e.g. Java C C# including objectoriented design
1 years of experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture design patterns reliability and scaling) of new and current system
Experience writing clear maintainable and extensible code

Strong problemsolving skills with the ability to navigate highly complex and ambiguous situations
Experience building and delivering software systems to internal or external customers
Strong verbal and written communication skills enabling effective messaging with both technical and nontechnical audiences
A highquality bar: documentation unit testing code reviews test automation continuous integration & deployment
Enthusiasm for instilling this attitude in others
Adaptable enterprising and willing to take ownership
Able to make improvements to the teams development and testing processes
Able to establish good working relationships with peers
Able to recognize discordant views and take part in constructive dialogue to resolve them
Able to mentor teammates on team software team culture and customer obsession
