The Floating School Operations Manager role is an integral part of the Information & Operations team ensuring that all school operations run seamlessly each and every day. The starting salary range for this role is $71305$77504. This is a fulltime fully onsite role based at a PK38 campus for the remainder of the 202524 school year. The assigned campus may vary daytoday based on operational needs.

About the RoleIn partnership with a school leader and Campus Director of Operations the School Operations Manager supports the school and campuswide operations vision. This role ensures that all school operations run seamlessly each and every day proactively problem solving and developing systems where needed.Location and Type of WorkThis is an exempt position and will report to the Campus Director of Operations. As a headquarters team that is focused on being responsive to our schools and meeting the needs of our students and families we approach our work in a way that reflects these priorities. Schools operate in person and our students and families rely on us for inperson support which requires this position to be fully onsite. This role is currently required to be onsite or in schools during regular work hours. ResponsibilitiesSchoolwide Systems 35 of the time) - Serves as the eyes and ears of the school to ensure that all school operations run seamlessly each and every day proactively problem solving and developing systems where needed
- Oversees all aspects of food service including quality managing staff/vendors meal tracking compliance and meal delivery
- Owns all logistics (e.g. transportation lodging meals staffing plan etc. of all offsite field trips and all onsite special events (performances graduation staff celebrations etc.
- Works with the school leader or their designee to manage the logistical elements for the endofyear assessment.
Finance 20 of the time)
- Works closely with the school leader to actively manage the school budget throughout the year
- Manages the school purchasing process by establishing clear systems for staff to request items placing orders with vendors tracking delivery and coding and submitting purchases orders invoices and reimbursement requests; approves school purchases under a specific financial threshold
- Leads the school opening/start up process each year to ensure that doors are ready to open by ordering furniture equipment and instructional supplies
- Serves as the second schoolbased point of contact regarding finance and works with regional Finance teams to ensure financial compliance and reporting
Facilities & Maintenance 20 of time)
- Oversees most facilities issues including maintenance managing staff/vendors aesthetics shared space agreements and campus safety
- Regularly conducts facilities walkthroughs and liaises with custodial staff/vendors/regional Facilities team to ensure that the facility looks the best it can
School Operations Leadership 15 of time)
- In collaboration with the Campus Director of Operations implements the schoolwide operations vision that supports and operationalizes the academic and cultural vision
- Plays a supportive role in the schools strategic and annual planning process
- Serves as the secondary point of contact for KIPP DCs headquarters staff
Safety 10 of time)
- Ensure that the school is prepared for emergencies by supporting the Campus Director of Operations to conduct all drills and train staff on emergency plans
- Supports the Campus Director of Operations during a safety crisis
- Collaborates with the Campus Director of Operations to develop arrival and dismissal procedures and plays a vital role during the arrival and dismissal process
Requirements & PreferencesRequired Qualifications
- Bachelors degree
- Minimum of 3 years of work experience
- Strong organizational verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Word Microsoft Powerpoint and Microsoft Excel
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in K12 education setting and/or business or operations management
- Proven project management skills as it relates to the creation of different systems and structures
- Ability to work collaboratively across multiple teams
Physical Requirements
- Ability to travel to and between KIPP DC schools
- Flexibility to work outside of normal business hours or weekends
