POSITION: Director of Program and Strategy
DEPARTMENT: Leadership Development
LOCATION: DSST: Home Office located in Denver CO
SALARY: $95000$$106400 for up to 6 years of aligned experience
STATUS: Full time benefits eligible exempt inperson position (Denver CO)

OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE

The Director of Program and Strategy role is responsible for supporting the fostering of strong leadership through the design and management of key leadership development programs and strategies.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities
Vision Alignment and Implementation of Leadership Pipeline and Development Strategies 40
Defines and owns the vision for leadership development in alignment with DSSTs people development philosophy and Leadership Development Theory of Action and Leadership Core Competencies
Manages the development strengthening and sustaining of the DSST leadership pipeline and regularly engages key stakeholders and senior leaders to assess and understand DSSTs rising talent pool and to ensure that high potential leaders are identified and developed
Manages and evaluates talent assessment and evaluation practices through the School Director Readiness review process toward school leadership roles across the network.
Successfully executes and supports the current suite of leadership development offerings for the following audiences including planning & of full day PD and 1:1 coaching and communication with their School Directors and coaches.
School Leadership Pathways: (lead role) SDit ALC
Teacher Leadership Pathways (support role): Emerging Leader Program
Partner with Content Managers to ensure Teacher Leader roles and responsibilities are aligned across contents and meet the needs of DSST Schools.
Lead on longterm vision for development of teacher leaders and alignment with other leadership pathways. Ability to stay in touch and utilize current leadership development research and best practices
Manages and refines network individualized leadership plans to support each leaders growth and development
Operator for Leader YOU: drives the project plan for the Leader YOU summer institute managing schedule key operations and partnerships communications & .
Partnership Management 30
Communicates and engages with key stakeholders (e.g. Managing Directors Chief of Schools Chief People Officer School Directors)
Analyzes and responds to multiple data sources to continuously assess and ensure development program and strategy effectiveness
Relies on and regularly implements innovative best practices to ensure that DSSTs People Development offerings are competitive and aligned to top people development organizations both within and beyond education
Seeks and manages external leadership development partnerships
Data Analysis 15
Use data to determine the needed next steps for program assessment of leadership development programs within our current pipeline
Participate in school visits in order to support evaluation and support plans in schools

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Deep desire to change the way the public school system serves students so that all kids regardless of race ethnicity or income have the opportunity to go to college.
Strong commitment to solving education inequity and a passion for the ability of joyful inclusive culture and student experience to play a role in that solution
Proactive problemsolver who demonstrates initiative and ability to work individually and with a team
At least two or more years of comfort with facilitation of professional development and events
At least two or more years of leading in diverse communities (including staff students and families)
At least two or more years of cand comfort working with middle school and high school students and school leaders
The ability to see through and navigate moments of ambiguity
Ability create unambiguous systems and procedures to allow others to easily replicate or take advantage of your work and thinking
A strong customer service mindset and ability to clearly guide users to solutions
Leadership experience
2 years of principal leadership experience
Organizational or systemlevel vision and strategy setting
Experience coaching and leading adults
Implementation and monitoring of strategy
At least two or more years of 612 experience as a teacher
At least two or more years of 612 experience as a cultural and instructional leader experience
At least two or more years of 612 Leadership experience as a principal/School Director
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
7 years of experience in education (classroom experience required)
3 years of experience in principal leadership
