Our client operates in the dynamic and fastpaced world of iGaming. They are known for developing cuttingedge operational platforms that span multiple jurisdictions offering a rich and engaging environment for their teams to thrive. We are seeking a Technical Lead to join their team in Johannesburg. As part of a small agile group of developers you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the scalability performance and resilience of their software solutions.
As a Technical Lead you will lead a team of developers through the planning design development and delivery phases of enterpriselevel software solutions. Your technical expertise will be key to creating innovative scalable and secure systems. In this handson leadership role you will drive technical decisionmaking mentor your team and oversee the development of key products. You will collaborate with Solution Architects other technical leads and nontechnical stakeholders ensuring that the solutions delivered meet both business and operational requirements.
This role requires someone who is always learning adaptable and capable of solving complex problems quickly. You will also work closely with your team to set goals define project priorities and maintain a productive working environment. With your expertise in iGaming platforms and technologies you will be instrumental in shaping the technical direction.
Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of frontend backend DevOps and BI developers ensuring effective collaboration across multiple domains.
- Design develop and document the technical architecture of products focusing on scalability performance and security.
- Provide leadership and technical guidance throughout the software development lifecycle ensuring highquality maintainable and scalable code.
- Actively participate in technical discussions mediate debates and guide architectural decisionmaking.
- Oversee the adoption of industry best practices and coding standards.
- Recruit and train team members focusing on technical and soft skill development.
- Ensure effective delegation of tasks and responsibilities promoting collaboration and efficient project .
- Conduct security audits and maintain systems and applications ensuring they remain uptodate.
- Manage and track technical debt ensuring code quality is maintained throughout the development cycle.
- Promote a collaborative and learningdriven culture within the team.
Requirements:
- Extensive experience in the B2B software industry specifically within the iGaming space.
- At least 10 years of software development experience with a minimum of 3 years in a leadership role.
- Proficiency in C# .NET and Umbraco technologies.
- Handson experience with eventdriven and microservice architectures.
- Strong background in SQL database design and profiling.
- Experience with caching objects and client/server or Ntier architectures.
- Demonstrated ability to solve complex technical challenges optimizing both performance and security.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills able to interact with both technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
- A passion for continuous learning and staying updated with emerging technologies in both the iGaming and software development sectors.
