Job Description Summary
Working under the supervision of the PI and also independently the Research Assistant carries out the tasks related to a specific research projectsuch as collecting and analyzing data assisting in the preparation of data to submit to granting agencies and providing overall support and leadership to undergraduate student workers. Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned depending on the needs of a particular research project.
Responsibilities
Assist the PI with grant proposal development budget tracking and progress reporting. Coordinate IRB submissions and ensure compliance with research regulations. Perform advanced data analysis using tools such as SPSS R or Python. Draft literature reviews or manuscripts for publication under the guidance of the PI. Develop onboarding and training materials for undergraduate research assistants. Serve as a point of contact for collaborators and coordinate project logistics across departments. Collect and analyze data Prepare materials for submission to granting agencies and foundations Provide ready access to all experimental data for the faculty researcher and/or supervisor Request or acquire equipment or supplies necessary for the project Manage and respond to project related email Supervise undergraduate students working on the research project (maintaining records on assignment completion acting as liaison/mediator between the undergraduate students and the faculty researcher) Attend project meetings Attend meetings as necessary Summarize project results Prepare progress reports for the PI and funding agency Prepare other articles reports and presentations Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
Bachelors degree and/or equivalent combination of education and work experience. Experience in using computerbased tools (Word Excel Access Outlook PowerPoint etc. Oral and written communication skills Ability to comprehend a process and/or procedure and take a given task from beginning to completion. Ability to work independently accurately and to problem solve technical and methodological issues that arise during the course of the research Experience in meeting/event coordination. Ability to apply sound research techniques methodology and logical critical analysis. Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills required. Proven ability to reason prioritize problem solve and communicate logically.
