JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Plant Science The Grain Crop Production Lab is seeking a Research Assistant

Do you love working outside and have a passion for agriculture Do you enjoy learning about plants and are looking for an internship to build your CV and set you up for a successful career in agriculture Then this internship is for you!

The candidate will assist in conducting field and laboratory research and extension on agronomic crops such as soybean corn and wheat. Typical duties include assisting lab members with: collecting and processing plant and soil samples in both field and laboratory settings establishing field plots and planting and harvest in support of research experiments.

The successful candidate must be willing to travel to field research sites (including commercial farms) and be able to work outdoors during the day. They should also be detail oriented and work well independently.

Additionally this job requires operating a motor vehicle as a part of the job duties. A valid US drivers license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to standard background checks.

The successful candidate will frequently interact with professors graduate students and other members of the Grain Crop Production Lab and other research groups.

The ASR includes crime statistics and institutional policies concerning campus security such as those concerning alcohol and drug use crime prevention the reporting of crimes sexual and other matters.
