POSITION DUTIES

The Comptroller of Marylands Information Technology Client Services Team is looking for an individual to join our Desktop Support team managing over 1200 computers throughout Maryland.

Potential candidates should have excellent customer service skills and the ability to perform advanced desktop support work with little to no supervision.

Responsibilities will include:

Deploying and setting up desktop computers and peripherals. Installing software and Imaging workstations.
Provide Tier II support assisting internal and external customers by troubleshooting and resolving issues with common desktop technology and software.
Audio/Visual support for meetings.
Assist customers with scheduling and setup of Video Conference equipment.
Acting as a backup Help Desk representative.

PLEASE NOTE:ITD is responsible for the 24x7x365 support for ADC mainframe distributed systems and networks. All ITD employees are available for oncall support. As such this position is required to occasionally work an offhour schedule weekdays prior to 7:30 a.m. and / or after 5:00 p.m. weekends and holidays.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Experience:Two years and sixmonths of experience one year of experience planning integrating and maintaining software and hardware for local or wide area computer networks and an additional eighteen months ofexperience converting data from project specifications bypreparing program code using generally accepted computer programming languages or other developmental tools; planninginstalling and maintaining data communications network lines and devices; or evaluating implementing and maintaining computer hardware and software.

NOTES:

Candidates may substitute graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate and fifteen credit hours from an accredited college or university in systems analysis and applications programming using generally accepted computer programming languages or other developmental tools for the additional eighteen months of the required experience.
Candidates may substitute graduation from an accredited high school or possession of ahigh school equivalency certificate and completion of a certification program in Network Administration such as Certified Novell Administrator (CNA) Microsoft Certified Product Specialist NT 4.0 Administrator or equivalent certification program for the additional eighteen months of the required experience.
Candidates may substitute experience in one of the following areas on a yearforyear basis for graduation from an accredited a high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate: operating computer systemsscheduling controlling input and output or maintaining backups or data storage processing data on computer systems evaluating implementing and maintainingcomputer hardware and software or converting data from project specifications by developing programs using generallyaccepted computer programming languages or otherdevelopmental tools.
Candidates may substitute the possession of a Bachelors degree in computer information technology management information systems or other information technology related field including course work in local or wide area computer networks from an accredited college or university and one year of experience planning integrating and maintaining software and hardware for local or wide area computer networks for the required experience.
Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces militaryservice experience as a commissioned officer in NetworkAnalyst classifications or Network Integration and Management specialty codes in the Information Technologyfield of work on a yearforyear basis for the required experience.

** For education obtained outside of the U.S. you will be required to provide proof of the equivalent American education as determined by a foreign credential evaluation service. If you possess a degree obtained outside of the United States please submit a detailed coursebycourse evaluation report from one of the U.S. equivalency evaluating members identified at OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Two years supporting Microsoft Windows desktop operating systems in a business environment.
Familiarity with Windows 11
Expertise diagnosing and troubleshooting issues in Windows desktop environments.
Office365 Experience
