Job Duties
Western State Hospital is seeking a full time Nurse Practitioner who will serve as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner and provide psychiatric care under Psychiatrist supervision to patients on assigned unit(s). This position will provide direct psychiatric care of patients on the assigned unit including: psychiatric assessment; patient and family interviews; diagnostic reassessments when indicated; etc.; serve as HOTT with multidisciplinary team with regard to the ongoing development and implementation of the unit program; provide supervision of milieu therapy; provide cross coverage on other units when attending physician or PMHNP is absent; provide supervision of psychiatric nurse practitioner students; and participate in Medical Staff/hospital committee activities and hospitalwide service delivery system.

Minimum Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
Certified as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
Licensed Nurse Practitioner with Prescriptive Authority in Virginia
Recent graduates may be eligible for consideration pending NP license and certification.
Active DEA prior to the approval of clinical privilege(s)
