Program Manager Assessment
Credentials
Temporary up to 7.5 months

Today the Royal College has over 55000 members and the vision remains to advance the learning for specialist physicians to deliver the best health care for all. The Royal College partners and collaborates to lead the evolution of specialty medical education and standards; support specialist physicians learners and teams to continuously improve; and advocate for excellence in specialty medicine by supporting innovation wellbeing equity and personcentered care. We are a national nonprofit organization established in 1929 by a special Act of Parliament to oversee the medical education of specialists in Canada.

Reporting to the Director of Assessment & Certification the Program Manager is responsible for managing the Formal Reviews and Accommodation programs. The Program Manager is responsible for the development management implementation and evaluation of programs.

The Program Manager is responsible for communication and management of Formal Reviews and Accommodations with candidates legal counsel Speciality Education Programs Program Directors and Provincial Medical Regulatory Authorities.

Heres an insight into your typical daytoday:
You will work closely with stakeholders across the Royal College leading by demonstrating strategic thinking results orientation collaboration and engagement. You will liaise with external and internal stakeholders including the Assessment leadership team Directors legal counsel Specialty Committee Chairs Specialty Education Program Directors and Provincial Medical Regulatory Authorities (MRA).

Working with internal and external stakeholders you will manage and approve Formal Review processes for Examination and Credentials as well as Special Accommodation Programs. You will also approve exam eligibility for candidates in special circumstances (e.g. deferrals withdrawals travel bans visa issues etc.. With your excellent interpersonal skills you will manage the relationship with the MRA for eligibility and certification.

Does this sound like you
Bachelors degree in education or business administration or related field or related experience.
3 years related credentialing and/or examinations experience in a notforprofit environment.
Enhanced problemsolving skills with creativity to design and formulate novel approaches to solving unique and complex problems.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact communicate and work with stakeholders and business leaders at various levels deliver group presentations and facilitate and chair meetings.
Ability to influence others to adopt new practices and behaviours.
Excellent project management skills to plan prioritize and coordinate work activities.
Excellent planning and analytical skills with an ability to apply multiple solutions to business problems.
Strong coordination time management organization and prioritization skills.
Excellent computer software skills in the Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to manage high stakes and high stress communications with candidates.
An understanding of the International Medical context (e.g. compassion and tact)
Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
Ability to manage high stress personal situations while remaining impartiality and not compromising the validity of the exam.
English communication skills (verbal and written) are required. French communication skills (verbal and written) are an asset.
