Overview
My client are seeking a diligent and detailoriented Graduate Estimator to join their dynamic team. As a Graduate Estimator you will assist with the estimation and procurement of FF&E (furniture fixtures and equipment) for commercial fitout and residential projects. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate with a strong interest in construction and commercial interiors to kickstart their career in estimating.
Responsibilities
- Support the senior estimators in preparing accurate and comprehensive cost estimates for FF&E items in commercial fitout projects.
- Assist in conducting material takeoffs and quantity surveys to determine project requirements.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external suppliers to gather pricing and product information.
- Analyse project specifications drawings and other documentation to ensure accurate estimation.
- Learn and apply industrystandard estimating software and tools to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Daytoday
- Collaborate with senior estimators and project teams to understand project requirements.
- Analyse project documentation and conduct material takeoffs to extract necessary information.
- Communicate with suppliers to obtain quotes and product information.
- Utilize estimating software and tools to prepare comprehensive estimates.
- Contribute to team meetings and project discussions to gain valuable insights into the industry.
Qualifications
- A recent graduate with a degree in construction management quantity surveying or a related field.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a fastpaced and deadlinedriven environment.
- Knowledge of construction materials and methods is advantageous but not essential.
- Eagerness to learn and develop skills in estimating and procurement.
