As the Security Manager you will assist the Facility Security Officer (FSO) in implementing the UDRI security program procedures and controls to ensure compliance with government and organizational regulations and requirements. The Security Manager serves as the Alternate FSO and Alternate Contractor Special Security Officer (ACSSO). The Security Manager performs the following duties:
Maintains documentation provided by the CSSO required for the continuing accreditation of the UDRI Sensitive Compartmented Area Facility (SCIF).
Maintains a working knowledge of federal security regulations that apply to organizational compliance and contract as set forth in SCI security rules (ICDs) DOD security rules (NISPOM 32 CFR Part 117 and other relevant authorities. Develops documents and implements processes and procedures for handling safeguarding and storing classified documentation and for granting personnel and visitors access to classified materials.
Ensures continuing clearance eligibility of the UDRI SCI and SAP briefed workforce.
Continuously reviews local SCIF documentation for relevance and currency.
As required applies businessminded and riskmanaged solutions to security issues and business challenges and communicates observations and recommendations to leadership and business partners. Reviews solicitations Requests for Proposals proposals and contracts to provide securityrelated expertise guidance and implementation plans in accordance with NISPOM 32 CFR Part 117.
Manages the SCI selfassessment programs and quarterly and semiannual compliance activities.
Drafts outgoing DD 254 Contract Security Classification Specifications and reviews incoming DD 254s for accuracy and suitability.
Responsible for responding to Science and Technology Protection Plan requirements including drafting and submitting SF 424s.
Assists in the organizations compliance with Controlled Unclassified Information requirements as outlined in DoD 5200.48 and other guidance.
Bachelors degree plus a minimum of 4 years of experience. The education requirement may be waived for a candidate with 6 years of experience with at least two of those years working with ICD 705 security requirements.
Subject matter expertise in administering security programs.
Experience conducting security selfinspections of varying complexity.
Established relationships with Department of Defense customers and DCSA personnel.
Knowledge of DoD and Federal Agencies controlled unclassified information (CUI)/sensitive information security requirements.
Experience with applicable security databases (DISS NISS etc..
Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a culturally diverse team in a growing organization.
Excellent written verbal and presentation skills.
Due to the nature of this position U.S. citizenship is required and the candidate must be able to obtain and maintain an active Top Secret security clearance.
While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:
Active Industrial Security related professional certification.
Experience working for a defense contractor with 400 or more employees.
Experience engaging with local and/or national security organizations such as the National Classified Management Society (NCMS).
Experience with the National Background Investigation Services (NBIS) system.
