Job Description

Ipswich Public Schools DistrictWide PositionReports to: Director of Student ServicesFTE: 1.0 10 Month Employee. Member of IPS Unit A ContractPosition Overview:Ipswich Public Schools is seeking a dynamic and collaborative Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our growing Student Services team. This is a new position within the district created as part of our strategic commitment to proactive inclusive practices and our ongoing investment in supporting the whole child through a robust MultiTiered System of Supports (MTSS).The Occupational Therapist will serve students across the district working closely with general education and special education staff to ensure equitable access skill development and meaningful participation for all learners. This individual will be expected to bring a teamcentered strengthsbased approach to both direct services and systemslevel Responsibilities:Provide direct and consultative occupational therapy services to students as determined by IEPs evaluations and teambased comprehensive occupational therapy evaluations including sensory motor and functional assessments and present results clearly to educational teams and in IEP development and writing including goal setting service recommendations and data and actively contribute to IEP meetings progress review sessions and relevant student support as case manager for assigned students ensuring compliance with timelines collaboration with team members and strong family an integral role in enhancing the districts MTSS framework with a focus on early identification inclusive access and proactive interventions across regularly with general education teachers special educators school counselors support staff and building leadership to embed OT strategies within classrooms and across school consultation and professional development to staff on strategies to support motor planning sensory regulation executive functioning selfhelp skills and other areas of student Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs) including oversight of service delivery documentation and thorough and timely documentation in accordance with state federal and district other district initiatives as assigned in collaboration with the Director of Student Services and/or school Ipswich Public Schools vision of inclusion equity and access for all Candidate Profile:We are seeking a candidate who:Brings a collaborative mindset and a passion for working on interdisciplinary with confidence and empathy and values proactive studentcentered initiative and is comfortable working flexibly across multiple a strong commitment to inclusive education and equitable service experience working within an MTSS framework or is eager to learn and contribute to its excited to contribute to a districtwide vision of innovation and excellence in supporting all :Masters degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited Massachusetts licensure as an Occupational of 2 years of schoolbased OT experience preferred though strong clinical experience will be supervising or mentoring COTAs strongly of IDEA Section 504 and related special education laws and processes.
