Job Description
General Manager
As a General Manager at Renaissance Des Moines Savery Hotel Des Moines Iowa you will oversee all aspects of the hotels daytoday operations driving financial performance revenue growth guest satisfaction and team morale. Youll collaborate closely with the VP of Operations VP of Sales and Marketing and the revenue generation team to implement strategies that ensure sustained success. The role includes managing a fullservice Food & Beverage operation including a restaurant bar/bistro catering and over 12000 square feet of meeting space.
What Youll Do
Guest Experience:
Deliver attentive courteous and efficient service ensuring exceptional guest satisfaction from arrival to departure.
Oversee reservations checkin/checkout processes billing and prompt resolution of guest inquiries or concerns.
Team Leadership:
Foster a positive teamoriented environment that prioritizes guest satisfaction.
Train and supervise staff including front desk and Food & Beverage teams to deliver consistent highquality service.
Collaborate with the Operations Manager and other department heads to ensure seamless operations.
Revenue Management:
Maximize occupancy and revenue through innovative strategies and strong revenue management practices.
Leverage expertise in corporate group and direct sales as well as online travel agency (OTA) management to drive profitability.
Operational Excellence:
Oversee total hotel operations including safety security maintenance and compliance with brand and company standards.
Implement and manage performance plans budgets and forecasts to achieve financial goals.
Analyze profit and loss statements control labor costs and manage expenses effectively.
Food & Beverage Management:
Lead the restaurant bar catering and banquet teams to deliver exceptional service and drive F&B revenue growth.
Ensure high standards in food presentation cleanliness and guest satisfaction.
Preferred Sales Knowledge:
Strong experience in corporate group and direct sales as well as OTA management.
Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders including corporate clients travel agencies and local businesses.
About You:
Experience: Minimum of 4 years in hotel executive leadership (GM/AGM/DOS). Marriottbranded experience and prior sales experience preferred.
F&B Expertise: Comprehensive knowledge of Food & Beverage operations.
Skills: Exceptional communication ownership mindset and handson leadership.
Proficiency: Strong understanding of budgeting forecasting labor management and Microsoft Office (especially Excel).
Availability: Flexible to work AM/PM shifts weekends and holidays as required.
