The PT will be able to identify patients/customers: Inpatients Outpatients Home Health/Hospice patients SubAcute Unit patients (neonates to geriatrics). The PT is responsible for performing an agespecific assessment designed to gather data relevant to the patients individual needs. This includes assessment and evaluation of cognitive sensory neurological musculoskeletal functional and physiological status. The PT develops a plan of care performs treatment as indicated assesses patients response to treatment and assists with discharge planning. The PT utilizes exercise equipment and physical agents to improve strength balance coordination and range of motion and to decrease pain to restore a patients optimal mobility and functional ability. The PT provides education related to the treatment program disease process and prevention of further injuries to the patient family/caregiver and other members of the healthcare team. Depending on the location the PT will be expected to delegate and monitor treatment provided by Physical Therapist Assistants. The PT will coordinate delegate and supervise responsibilities assigned to supportive staff (Rehabilitation Techs LATs etc.. The PT may be asked to create and participate in Community Engagement activities that focus on healthy lifestyle promotion preventative medicine and wellness topics. The PT will participate in operational and performance improvement aspects of the department. The PT will maintain awareness of budgetary and fiscal responsibility as it pertains to wages overtime productivity and continuing education. The PT will ensure that documentation is complete and charges are accurately entered on a timely basis. The PT will participate in all mandated departmental and organizational educational programs.
Obtained or eligible to obtain a degree (or equivalent) in Physical Therapy from an accredited Educational Institution. Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree preferred. American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties boardcertifications preferred but not required. Ability to read and communicate effectively in English. Strong written and verbal skills. Basic computer knowledge. Knowledge of Physical Medicine Physical Therapy Modalities anatomy and physiology. Decision making and problem solving skills. Team building skills. Physical Therapy Licensed or eligible for Physical Therapy License in the state of Wisconsin. Current BLS of Health Care Providers certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross. Drivers License may be required depending on location of hire.
