Schedule: Three 3 shifts per calendar month Regularly covering weekend shifts is expected Two 2 holidays per year.
Department: Kresge Health & Rehab Center Memory Care Assisted Living and Independent Living Chelsea Retirement Community Chelsea MI
What Youll Do in This Role:
TheSpeech Language Pathologist diagnoses and treats individuals with speech language voice and fluency impairments as part of inhouse rehab services in SNF Assisted Living Memory Care and Independent Living.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Performs hearing and/or speech and language examinations.
- Evaluates hearing and /or speech and language test results.
- Evaluates barium swallow other test results and overall medical background.
- Diagnoses patients and formulates treatment plans.
- Educate patients and family members about the various communication methods to cope with impairment.
- Writes reports and maintains client information.
- Performs administrative responsibilities: coordinates paperwork writes lesson plans schedules case management activities and performs recordkeeping for administrative billing and caseload purposes.
- Develops individual and/or group activities and/or programs.
- Participates in the planning and implementing of individualized educational planning (IEP) meetings inservice meetings or intervention assistance team meetings.
What Youll Need:
- Graduate of an accredited Therapy program
- Current Speech Therapist state license
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Position requires the ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 35 pounds without assistance
- 2 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred
