Job Description
Student AssistantWebsite and Digital Content Specialist
- Currently enrolled as a student at the University of Florida.
- Assist with migrating content from the existing UFTIT2 website to a new WordPress template.
- Customize website appearance and features using WordPress themes widgets and plugins in line with UF branding and web accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1.
- Collaborate with staff to identify website improvement needs and implement new functionalities (e.g. interactive course listings resource libraries registration enhancements).
- Create and update programspecific FAQ pages using ChatGPTstyle writing to provide engaging and accessible information.
- Support the design and integration of a ChatGPTbased assistant to help users navigate manuals (e.g. operations guides user handbooks training documents).
- Conduct periodic website audits to ensure content accuracy mobile responsiveness and compliance with UFs digital policies.
- Work closely with the UFTI communications team and UF IT support to coordinate technical needs.
$18$25 per hour
- Currently enrolled as a student at the University of Florida.
- Demonstrated experience managing or developing WordPress websites.
- Familiarity with modern web tools and plugins (Elementor WPForms Yoast SEO etc..
- Understanding of web accessibility standards and responsive design principles.
- Excellent written communication skills with the ability to craft engaging concise content.
Selfmotivated and able to manage tasks independently while meeting deadlines
- Experience with UFs web policy and digital standards.
- Background in communications web design computer science or related field.
- Experience creating contentspecific chatbots using tools like ChatGPT or OpenAI APIs.
- Familiarity with building AI assistants for user manuals or technical documentationsuch as setting up a chatbot that understands and responds to questions based on a manuals content.
- Interest or experience in transportation training programs or public engagement.
