Job Description
Join our team as a 2025 Summer Intern! We are seeking three parttime summer interns for a 7week paid internship in Houston TX from June 16 to July 31 2025. This is a unique opportunity for undergraduates to gain handson experience in green banking and clean energy financing while working on projects that support the organization as it continues to grow and impact communities across Texas.
About Us:
Clean Energy Fund of Texas (CEFTX) established as Texass first nonprofit green bank focuses on enabling and supporting financially responsible investments in energy efficiency wind and solar power to make clean energy accessible and affordable for all Texans. Our initiatives are designed to drive energy security and economic development especially in historically underserved communities by promoting sustainability and equity. Through innovative financing solutions and partnerships we empower individuals and businesses to participate in the clean energy transition.
What Youll Do
As a CEFTX intern youll work directly with experienced professionals on defined impactful projects related to clean energy financing and sustainable development. Our program provides:
- Realworld experience in green banking and clean energy project development
- Understanding of financing mechanisms that support an equitable energy transition
- Professional skills development in research analysis and communication
- Networking opportunities with industry professionals
Each intern will be paired with a dedicated mentor who provides guidance feedback and professional development support throughout the program.
Internship Projects
Interns will be matched with one of the following projects based on their skills and interests:
Grant Matrix & Analysis
- Research funding opportunities across government and philanthropic entities
- Align opportunities with CEFTXs mission and priorities
- Deliverable: Funding matrix alignment guide and recommendation memo
Green Bank Landscape Analysis
- Research U.S. green banks and develop a matrix of their offerings
- Deliverable: Excel database summary report CEFTX insights
Marketing & Strategic Storytelling
- Build a narrative timeline of CEFTXs growth and milestones
- Create messaging and content ideas for our website
- Deliverable: Timeline story framework and content recommendations
Core Qualifications
- Current undergraduate student
- Excellent organization communication and problemsolving skills
- Comfortable with Microsoft Office and collaborative work tools
- Passionate about clean energy sustainability and equity
Program Details
- Duration: 7 weeks
- Hours: 20 hours per week
- Compensation: $2100 total $15/hour)
- Location: Hybrid (primarily remote with occasional inperson meetings in Houston)
