Breast Imaging Radiologist
Worcester MA
UMass Memorial Medical Group is seeking to hire a Breast Imaging Radiologist interested in joining a thriving flexible and supportive department.
About our Department:
- We are comprised of 100 Radiologists 28 residents and 10 fellows as well as approximately 25 research faculty and 5 fulltime educators providing comprehensive imaging services through a fully integrated health care system in central Massachusetts.
- We are the primary academic medical center for UMass Chan Medical School.
- Our department has state of the art imaging equipment and a fully integrated IT infrastructure EMR (EPIC) PACS PS1 and has been at the forefront of implementation of a wide range of AI algorithms.
- There are numerous opportunities to purse individual interests in medical student education Health Services or basic science research and AI supported by a robust Radiology clinical trials office and image processing core labs.
Breast Imaging Division
- We are comprised of 11 Breast Imagers and 1 Breast Imaging Fellow who coordinate clinical care from UMass Memorials NAPBC approved Comprehensive Breast Center and multiple ACR designated centers of excellence within a 1530mile radius of UMass Memorial Medical Center.
- Annually we read approximately 60000 screening mammograms 15000 diagnostic mammograms 12000 dedicated breast ultrasounds 2250 breast MRIs and 4250 interventional procedures.
- We function in a completely digital environment across all UMass Health sites with six 1.5 and two 3T breast MRI systems 20 tomosynthesis units 1 2D mammography unit 12 ultrasound suites and 2 ABUS suites.
- All Breast Imaging Radiologists should be able to perform a full range of breast imaging and interventions.
- Starting in the spring of 2026 Breast Imaging faculty will have the option of reading from home on average of one day per week.
- Full time breast imaging faculty are allocated 40 nonclinical (academic days) per year.
