Status: Fulltime

Location: Asbury Courts (Des Plaines) andAsbury Gardens (North Aurora)

Salary: $115000.00/Annually

The primary purpose of your job position is to perform restorative nursing procedures that maximize the residents existing abilities emphasize independence instead of dependence and minimize the negative effects of disability. You must possess an attitude of realistic optimism in accordance with the facility mission philosophy and as directed by the Director of Nursing.

Major Responsibilities

  • Meets with administrator medical and nursing staff therapy staff and other related departments to plan restorative care.
  • Partner with DONs on falls looking for declines for part B and ensuring to maintain a level of function.
  • Improve CMI and QM.
  • Plan develop organize implement evaluate and direct restorative care services as well as its programs and activities in accordance with current rules regulations and guidelines that govern nursing care facilities.
  • Develop and maintain restorative care standards.
  • Responsible for restorative assessments GG and restorative programs on the MDS Care Plans and task set up for POC.
  • Maintains a current file on each resident under treatment. Maintains historical records resident files and progress notes as required. Ensures that all restorative care notes are informative and descriptive of the treatment provided and the residents response to care.
  • Reviews requests for restorative care and physicians orders.
  • Interviews residents to determine the type of treatment and to schedule therapy.
  • Selects rehabilitative and therapeutic activities and exercises based on medical and social history of resident.
  • Evaluates type of therapy most desirable after consulting with the physician and therapy personnel.
  • Participates in the development and implementation of resident MDS and care plans including quarterly reviews as they relate to restorative care.
  • Briefs resident of process involved in restorative care and prepares necessary equipment.
  • Demonstrates procedure involved in the treatment process to residents and staff personnel as necessary.
  • Prepares residents for treatment by dress/position and administers restorative care in accordance with established guidelines.
  • Encourages residents to perform or participate in ADL functions and range of motion exercises.
  • Instructs and supervises residents during therapy.
  • Recommends modifications and changes in the residents restorative care as indicated.
  • Assists in developing safety standards for restorative care.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to read write speak and understand the English language.
  • Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
  • Ability to meet the general health requirements set forth by the guidelines of the facility which include a medical and physical examination.
  • Ability to push pull move and/or lift a minimum of 25 pounds to a minimum height of three feet and be able to push pull move and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of three feet.

Exposure Level

  • It is highly likely that while performing the essential functions of this position you will be exposed to blood or body fluids.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must possess as a minimum a Nursing Degree from an accredited college or university or be a graduate of an approved RN program
  • Must have as a minimum one 1 years experience in restorative care.
  • Must have training in rehabilitative and restorative therapy practices.
  • Must possess a current unencumbered license to practice as a RN LPN or LVN in this state.
  • Must be knowledgeable of restorative care procedures.
  • Must possess leadership and supervisory ability and the willingness to work harmoniously with and supervise other personnel.
  • Must maintain the care and use of supplies equipment etc. and maintain the appearance of treatment areas.
  • Must be able to instruct certified nursing assistants in continuing preventive restorative care.
