As the Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Medical Student Selection at the University of Melbournes Medical School youll play a pivotal role in shaping the future medical workforce. Youll lead the design implementation and evaluation of selection processes for the Doctor of Medicine (MD) programme ensuring the selection of highpotential candidates while promoting diversity and inclusion. This position offers you the chance to apply your expertise in highstakes selection processes to one of Australias leading medical programmes.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Design Selection Processes: Develop and implement innovative selection methods aligned with MD programme outcomes and best practices.
  • Lead Quality Improvement: Continuously evaluate and enhance selection processes based on scholarly evidence and local data.
  • Promote Diversity: Support strategies to widen participation and increase diversity in medical education.
  • Collaborate with Stakeholders: Work closely with Medical School leadership and various stakeholders to achieve selection goals.
  • Contribute to Research: Participate in research projects related to selection processes and medical education.

You may be a great fit if:
You are an experienced academic with a strong background in highstakes selection processes possessing expertise in selection method design and a commitment to diversity and inclusion in higher education.

You may also:

  • Have experience in designing and delivering highstakes selection processes.
  • Demonstrate understanding of current and emerging selection principles particularly in healthcare professions.
  • Possess strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Show proven ability to work in roles with significant responsibility.
  • Have a commitment to ethical practice and valuing diversity.
  • Be able to contribute to research and supervision in medical education.
