Sr ASIC Design Engineer Cloud-Scale Machine Learning Acceleration team

Custom SoCs (System on Chip) live at the heart of AWS Machine Learning servers. As a member of the CloudScale Machine Learning Acceleration team youll be responsible for the design and optimization of hardware in our data centers including AWS Inferentia our custom designed machine learning inference datacenter server. Our success depends on our worldclass server infrastructure; were handling massive scale and rapid integration of emergent technologies. Were looking for an ASIC Design Eengineer to help us trailblaze new technologies and architectures while ensuring high design quality and making the right tradeoffs.


Key job responsibilities
As an ASIC Design Engineer you will:

Develop and implement highperformance area and powerefficient RTL designs to meet project specifications and targets

Conduct indepth analysis of designs microarchitectures and architectures to optimize tradeoffs between features power consumption performance and area requirements

Implement SystemVerilog RTL and deliver synthesis and timingclean designs with appropriate constraints. Execute lint and CDC checks to ensure design integrity

Collaborate closely with crossfunctional teams including architects fellow designers verification specialists pre and postsilicon validation teams and synthesis timing and backend experts

Lead and Design to meet requirements or solve a system problem at a product or product family level. Take the lead on projects and partner with management & cross discipline engineers to deliver solutions. Mitigate longterm risks. Find a path forward in difficult situations. Make tradeoffs: short vs. longterm needs. Mentor and performs hiring decision assessments.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in ASIC design proficiency in SystemVerilog and excellent analytical and problemsolving skills. Experience with highperformance and powerefficient designs is highly desirable.

10 years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
Experience as a mentor tech lead or leading an engineering team

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $151300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $261500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on jobrelated knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
