We are seeking a highly skilled iOS Engineer to join our team and help us build the most beautifully crafted reading app on the planet. This role involves shipping production features improving app performance contributing to design discussions and pushing the boundaries of iOS development with SwiftUI. Location: Hybrid in San Francisco California 2 days/week inperson)
As an iOS Engineer at Margins you will play a critical role in shaping the future of how people discover and enjoy books. With your handson experience in Swift and iOS frameworks youll contribute directly to our native iOS app collaborating closely with product and design to deliver exceptional user experiences. Your work will reach millions of readers and be key in our ambition to win an Apple Design Award.
What youll do:
Must Have:
Proven experience shipping multiple native iOS apps to the App Store
Deep proficiency in Swift and SwiftUI including MVVM and structured concurrency
Strong understanding of Apple Human Interface Guidelines and iOS platform APIs
Experience writing testable welldocumented maintainable code
Passion for clean design polished interfaces and performance optimization
Ability to work in a hybrid setup 2 days/week in San Francisco
Collaborative mindset with strong communication skills
Nice to Have:
Experience in web backend or design (TypeScript GraphQL Supabase etc.
Background in earlystage startups or founding roles
A personal reading habit and passion for books
A strong sense of ownership and longterm product vision
Previous contributions to opensource iOS libraries
A desire to shape a product that inspires and delights millions
