Job Description
Drive excellence and innovation in Geography at our leading independent school in Hackney! Head of Department role.
Our academically rigorous independent school in Hackney is seeking a dynamic and forwardthinking Head of Geography. You will be responsible for leading the department in delivering outstanding teaching fostering a culture of inquiry and ensuring students achieve their full potential in Geography.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and implementation of a highachieving Geography curriculum.
- Inspire and motivate both students and staff within the Geography department.
- Implement effective assessment strategies and use data to inform teaching and learning.
- Oversee fieldwork and enrichment opportunities to enhance student engagement.
- Manage departmental resources effectively.
- Contribute to the schools strategic aims and ethos.

Qualifications & Experience:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Degree in Geography or a related discipline.
- Extensive experience teaching Geography at secondary level including ALevel.
- Proven success in leading and managing a team or significant departmental initiatives.
- Strong understanding of current pedagogical approaches in Geography.
- Excellent communication analytical and problemsolving skills.
